Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) is a long lived perennial weed that forms a low growing mat on lawns, although it is more common in grassy areas and it can grow to 50cm high in the right conditions.As with other plants in this family it has the ability to fix nitrogen from the atmosphere.
